Tero Isokauppila, the founder of Four Sigmatic, is on a mission to make medicinal mushrooms, some of the world’s most researched superfoods, more accessible to everyone. Born in Finland to an agronomist father and nursing teacher mother, Tero grew up on a farm his family has owned since 1619. There, he foraged for mushrooms and other wild foods while learning about the natural food space at an early age. Following his early education on the farm, Tero later completed a Degree in Chemistry and a Certificate in Plant-Based Nutrition from Cornell University. In 2006, he won a Finnish innovation award for discovering that the sought-after Japanese culinary matsutake mushrooms also grow in Finland. Tero is a reputable source on superfoods, an expert on natural health and has been a featured speaker at Summit Series, Wanderlust and WME-IMG. Tero and Four Sigmatic have been featured in prominent media outlets, including Vogue, Time, Forbes, W Magazine, Harper's Bazaar, BuzzFeed, Bon Appétit, Goop, Well+Good, MindBodyGreen and many others. Dr Don has spent 17 years in the health and wellness industry as a chiropractor in Edmonton Alberta. It was from his position at the adjusting table that he noticed a common frustration developing into a major stressor in the lives of many patients.
He identified it as ‘the underdog’ and they couldn’t seem to break out of it.
It was a pattern he had seen in his own life - from the basketball days of his youth to life as a businessman and health practitioner. It stopped people from living their best lives, and often stripped them of true happiness. He made it his mission to find out how to break the underdog curse and move into authentic, lasting success.
Dr Don is now a life coach and motivational speaker who dedicates his time to empowering people with the new, inspiring information regarding success, health, and his first love, neurology.
He and his wife Brandi run a thriving chiropractic clinic and chiropractic seminar series. They are both busy conference speakers, and loving parents to a rescue pit bull named Lux.

Tracy is the founder and primary writer for Evolutionary Parenting. She obtained her B.A. in Cognitive Science from the University of California, Berkeley and an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from the University of British Columbia. She recently finished her Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology, also at the University of British Columbia, where she both studied how certain evolutionary factors affect children’s empathic behaviour and critically evaluated our assessment of theory of mind in children. Her academic works have been published in many peer-reviewed journals including Psychological Assessment, PLoS One, Personality and Individual Differences, Midwifery, and more.

Tracy serves as an Adviser to the Children’s Health & Human Rights Partnership, a non-profit agency dedicated to ending routine infant circumcision. She previously worked at the Canadian Council on Learning, a non-profit agency dedicated to researching myriad elements of learning across the lifespan, where her role was to critically analyse educational research to help form policy decisions at local school board and provincial government levels. Tracy writes on the side with a group of researchers and gentle parenting advocates (including Dr. Darcia Narvaez, Dr. Kathleen Kendall-Tackett, Dr. Wendy Middlemiss, Sarah Ockwell-Smith, and Helen Stevens) who hope to expand awareness of the science and importance of attachment and evolutionary parenting.

Most importantly to her, though, she is a mother to daughter Madeleine (Maddy, age 5), son Theodore (Theo, age baby), stepson Desmond, and wife to husband Brian.

With the soul of an advocate and the mind of an entrepreneur, James Maskell has spent the past decade sparking debate and encouraging a shift away from conventional western medicine and toward a wellness-centered, functional medicine model—starting with the doctors themselves. To that end, he created Functional Forum, the world’s largest integrative medicine conference with record-setting participation online and growing physician communities around the world. He’s also the founder of the Evolution of Medicine, a community e-commerce platform which provides highly curated and customized resources, tools, products, and services, making it easier and more affordable for conventional doctors to embark on a new way of managing healthcare.

An in-demand speaker and lively impresario, with a broad and thriving network in the functional medicine space, James lectures internationally, and has been featured on TEDMED, Huffpost Live, TEDx and more, and contributor to Huffington Post, KevinMD, thedoctorblog and MindBodyGreen. He serves on the faculty of George Washington University’s Metabolic Medicine Institute, and speaks regularly on the integrative medicine conference circuit. He graduated with honors from University of Nottingham with a degree in health economics.
He lives in Venice Beach, California with his wife and daughter.
